Warehouse CCTV.
Yards, bays and the fence.

A warehouse is an operation before it's a building: vehicles, bays, shifts, contractors, a fence. The CCTV has to be designed around that, not from a floor plan. Here's how we approach it.

Start with the movement

Where do vehicles enter and leave? Where's the loading activity? Where does stock sit overnight? Where would someone climb the fence out of sight? The camera schedule falls out of those answers — typically gate ANPR, wide yard coverage, a camera per bay, perimeter line-crossing along the fence, and interior overview cameras.

The specification

  • ANPR at the gate — every vehicle in and out, time-stamped, searchable
  • Colour night vision across the yard — bullets or turrets with white light on person detection
  • Line-crossing on the perimeter — alert if a person crosses the fence line out of hours, not every fox
  • Managed PoE switching with VLANs — cameras off the office network, with power budgets that don't brown out
  • Fibre or point-to-point wireless for outbuildings and far corners
  • 60–90 day retention where insurers or contracts require
  • 4G/5G failover so alerts still arrive when the broadband goes

Alerts that get used

Out-of-hours only, person and vehicle only, with a snapshot, to the right people's phones. A manager who gets fifty alerts a day mutes them by Wednesday.

Why we're different here

Beyond eight cameras this is a networking job. Our team designs the switching, VLANs, fibre links and failover in-house — so one company owns the whole system. See commercial CCTV.

Your property decides. Not the logo.

Questions

Good to know.

How many cameras does a warehouse need?

From 8 to 64+, depending on site. The survey maps it; the estimate builder gives you a starting point.

Can it integrate with access control?

Yes — a forced door pulls up the camera automatically, and staff entry is logged against video.

Do you take over existing warehouse systems?

Yes — audit, fix, expand, and take over support. Often cheaper than replacement.
